Powder coating is a new type of solvent free 100% solid powder coating. It has two main categories: thermoplastic powder coatings and thermosetting powder coatings. The coating is made by mixing special resins, pigments and fillers, curing agents, and other additives in a certain proportion, and then preparing it through processes such as hot extrusion, crushing, and sieving. They are stored stably at room temperature, subjected to electrostatic spraying or fluidized bed immersion coating, and then heated, baked, melted, and solidified to form a flat and bright coating film, achieving the purpose of decoration and corrosion prevention.
Characteristics:
1. This product does not contain toxicity, solvents, or volatile toxic substances, so it does not have any problems such as poisoning, fire, or the discharge of "three wastes", and fully complies with the requirements of national environmental protection laws.
2. The utilization rate of raw materials is high, and the sprayed powder can be recycled, with a utilization rate of over 99%.
3. After the pre-treatment of the coated material, it can be applied in one go without the need for a primer to obtain a sufficient thickness of the coating film, which is easy to achieve automated operation, high production efficiency, and can reduce costs.
4. The coating is dense, with good adhesion, impact strength, and toughness, high coverage of edges and corners, and excellent chemical corrosion resistance and electrical insulation performance.
5. Safe and convenient storage and transportation of powder coatings.
Powder spraying construction process and requirements: The so-called powder electrostatic spraying is the principle of using high-voltage electrostatic corona electric field. Connect a high-voltage negative electrode to the metal guide mark at the head of the spray gun, and the sprayed workpiece is grounded to form a positive electrode, creating a strong electrostatic field between the spray gun and the workpiece. When compressed air is used as a carrier gas to deliver powder coating from the powder supply bucket through the powder tube to the guide rod of the spray gun, a dense negative charge is generated near the guide rod due to the corona discharge generated by the high-voltage negative electrode, which causes the powder to carry negative charges and enter the electrostatic field with high electric field strength. Under the dual action of electrostatic force and carrier gas, the powder uniformly flies towards the surface of the grounded workpiece to form a thick and uniform powder layer, Reheat and solidify to transform into a durable coating.
Painting construction process: pre-treatment - drying to remove moisture - spraying - inspection - baking - inspection - finished product.
General powder spraying construction requirements:
(1) In order to fully utilize the characteristics of powder coating and extend the service life of the coating film, the surface of the coating material must first undergo strict surface pre-treatment.
(2) When spraying, the coated object must be completely grounded to increase the spraying efficiency of powder coating.
(3) For coated materials with significant surface defects, conductive particles should be scraped to ensure the smoothness and smoothness of the coating film
(4) After spraying, the object needs to be heated and cured. The curing conditions shall be based on the technical specifications of the powder product, but the curing temperature and time must be fully guaranteed to avoid quality accidents caused by insufficient curing.
(5) Immediately inspect after powder spraying, and if defects are found, they should be dealt with in a timely manner. If defects are found after solidification, their scope is small and only local without affecting the surface decoration of the coating. The same color powder can be diluted with acetone for repair. If the scope is large and affects the surface quality, it should be polished with sandpaper, sprayed again, or the coating should be removed with a paint remover, and then powder sprayed again.
(6) Recycled powder must be screened to remove impurities and mixed with new powder in a certain proportion for use.
(7) The powder supply bucket, powder spraying room, and recycling system should avoid contamination from other powders of different colors, and be sure to blow clean each time the color is changed.
